- For the lighting appliances installed on the fan, there should be a description of the model and category
- Whether the partition fan can be installed outside the window or wall;
- The fan installed in a higher position should have a blade above 2.3m above the ground;
- For duct fans and partition wall fans, care must be taken to prevent gas from flowing back into the room from the open-air channel or other open flame equipment
2. Visual Inspection
- 1) Check whether the product is consistent with the sample provided by the customer, specifications, orders, color box pictures and content, instructions, etc.
- 2) Are there any missing product labels
- 3) Are there any missing or misprinted product trademarks, and are there any defective silk screens.
- 4) The appearance should not have some bad defects (such as dirt, scratches, deformation, rust, oxidation, poor spraying, poor plating, color mixing, etc., pay special attention to whether the motor has rust)
Especially remind the testing room to ensure that there is enough light
(1) Nameplate
For fans used in tropical climates, the letter “T” should be used.
Fans used in situations where the ambient temperature is higher than 40 ° C must be marked with the operating ambient temperature
(2) Ceiling fan: Pay special attention to that the LNE label cannot be reversed.
3. Fan Mechanical Assembly Check
- 1) Are all components in good condition, and are there obvious gaps and steps?
- 2) Shoot the camera by hand, then shake it to check whether there are any foreign objects (such as screws, mesons) or loose assembly in the product.

5. Basic Function Check
1) Function check of the switch button
Speed control switches, timing knobs, shaking head switches, lighting switch, etc., these control mechanisms should be flexible and reliable contact (switch 3 times). For the speed control gear, the phenomenon that two gears are connected at the same time or one gear cannot be pressed is not allowed. Press the stop button, and each speed gear button should be reset normally.
2) Operation and speed regulation performance check
After energizing, turn the toggle switch back and forth several times to check whether it is malfunctioning or the assembly is too tight. (Table fan, floor fan)
Fans should shake their heads and stop swings quickly, without intermittent, stagnation, shaking, tooth sweeping, tooth skipping phenomena, the speed difference of each gear should be obvious, the larger the air supply angle, the better.
There should be no abnormal noise in the mechanical transmission part of the fan.
When the electric fan runs at high, medium, and low speeds, the vibration is small, and the noise is low.
For fans with remote control, test their function.
3) Input power test
Under the condition of input rated voltage and frequency,
IEC: If the input power is> 25W and ≤ 300W, the deviation should not be greater than + 20%, if the input power is> 300W, the deviation should not be greater than + 15% or 60W (choose a larger value).
UL: should not be greater than + 10%.
4) Function check of head up and head swing (table fan, floor fan)
The fan head of the electric fan has a flexible operation at all angles of depression and elevation, is locked tightly, adjusted to the maximum depression angle, or shakes the head to the final position, and the net cover must not touch the fan pillar. When the fan is running, the stability is better, it cannot be tipped, and the angle of the shaking head should not be lower than the requirement.
5) Operation and speed regulation performance check
6) Positive and negative function check (ceiling fan)
Push-type switch, the handle is pushed down, the fan is forward rotation, that is, the wind blows down for summer use, and the fan is reversed when the wind blows upwards, which is suitable for cold indoor air.

6. Special Test of fan
1) Nameplate and mimeograph friction test
(1) IEC:
First, moisten with a pure cotton cloth and attach a weight of 1000g to wipe back and forth on the nominal plate 15 times
Then use a pure cotton cloth dipped in gasoline or 75% alcohol and attach a weight of 1000g to wipe back on the nominal plate 15 times (the frequency is 1 time back and forth for 1 second, you can use the stopwatch as a reference to adjust the frequency)
(2) UL:
Use a thumb or finger to apply a force of approximately 4 pounds (18N) to the nominal plate and wipe it back and forth 10 times (the frequency is 1 round for 1 second, you can use the stopwatch as a reference to adjust the frequency).
After the above tests, the label should still be legible, the nominal plate should not be easily removed, and it should not be curled.
(3) Adhesion test with 3M adhesive tape
Use 3M adhesive paper to stick and press, tilt-up 45 degrees and quickly pull up, repeat 3 times, the word mark should not fall off.

2) Stability test (table fan, floor fan)
Place it on an inclined plane at 10 ° to the horizontal at any normal use position in use. The power cord is placed on the inclined plane in the most unfavorable position, and the fan should not fall over. (IEC & UL: 10 °)
If the height exceeds 1.7m and the weight exceeds 10kg, the portable floor fan is placed on the horizontal surface. Apply a horizontal force of 40N to the fan at the height of 1.5m. The fan should not tip over. (IEC60335-2-80)
3) Net cover protection test (table fan, floor fan)
On the grille, apply 20N thrust and tension along the fan motor axis. After the test, dangerous moving parts should not be touched with a test probe similar to type B. However. The test probe has a circular limit plate with a diameter of 50 mm instead of a non-circular limit plate.
Type B test probe
- Finger diameter: 12 mm
- Bending finger length: 80mm (total length of three sections)
- Bezel diameter: 50mm
- Baffle length: 100mm
4) Motor speed test
Measure the motor speed with a speed tester (generally for high-end)
5) Noise test
Before the test, the appliance should be run-in for a sufficient period of time. Unless otherwise specified, it should be run at the highest speed without load.
Use a noise tester to measure the decibel value at a distance of 1 meter.
