Bakelite & Melamine Injection Molding Machine
Bakelite & Melamine Injection Molding Machine
Injection molding features can be categorized into two types: thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic. Thermoplastic materials are recyclable and reusable, while thermosetting materials, such as Bakelite and melamine, produce waste that cannot be recycled. Typically, if a product is made from plastic, it falls under the thermoplastic category; if made from Bakelite or melamine, it is classified as thermosetting.
The distinction between a Bakelite injection machine and a standard injection machine lies in their heating methods. Standard injection machines utilize heater bands for heating, whereas Bakelite (thermosetting) injection machines employ a mold temperature controller. This means that the thermosetting injection machine initially heats the material to about 60 to 90°C in the barrel to facilitate flow before injecting it into a mold heated to between 160 to 190°C to ensure proper melting and forming. As such, a thermosetting injection machine must use a mold temperature controller, although in some scenarios, it might use heater bands, requiring a clamping unit with insulating plates to safeguard operators from the mold's high temperatures.
