Best way to attach joists on top of beam
It does in my head at least
Getting more progress done over the weekend. Got the second section of wall stood up, and a few joists just to keep it in place, then my header for the door installed. Took an easy day yesterday since we had to load/unload a bunch of machines my brother won at an auction (that I get to store for him), so we just cut some more joists last night to length, cut some blocking, and installed the joist hangers on my header.
Then last night I installed blocking and the power lags (what I could get to anyway, got a 2,400 pound table saw in the way for a couple). Amazing what a difference that blocking made to stiffening it all up. Hoping to hang more joists tonight, then start putting up the flooring.
Pic of the loft as it stood Sunday, and a couple of the monster Oliver 260 table saw my brother got. Very cool saw, has 2 5hp motors, each direct connected to a blade (16" I think he said). You turn a handle, and the whole thing rotates so you can have a rip saw on one, and a finish on the other. Or finish and dado, or whatever. Table also slides in and out, which is cool.
