İsmail Şenyil, the owner of İspar Otomotiv, gave an interview to a local newspaper in Konya. As the chairman of Ispar Automotive, İsmail Şenyil stated, "The state might grant financial support to the private sector. Therefore, enhancement in incentives will be beneficial for our country." After completing his military service, he initiated the sales of heavy vehicle brake systems. He faced many challenges while trying to build his company, which now successfully exports its products. İsmail Şenyil emphasized that their next goal is to enhance their export capabilities and expand products such as caliper repair kits, brake discs, brake pads, and other essential components for heavy-duty vehicles globally.

How did you start your business?

I received a recommendation from a friend I trust. I started with passion. Initially, working with the domestic market posed challenges. I dedicated myself tirelessly in the beginning. With support from the business community in Konya and the trust of Turkish citizens, we have established a position in the market.

What products do you sell?

We sell caliper repair kits, brake discs, brake pads, brake chambers, drum brake components, brake shoes, brake linings, brake drums, wheel bolts, and wheel hubs for heavy-duty vehicles.

Do you export?

In 2021, we decided to expand our products into the global market. At the beginning of 2022, we started exporting. We hired foreign trade staff, made trips abroad, and as a result, we reached agreements with customers in Ukraine and Russia. We sent product samples, which were approved by customers who visited our facilities in Konya. Their feedback on our work has been overwhelmingly positive, as they recognize our energetic, hardworking, and systematic business approach.

To what regions do you sell your products in Turkey?

We are actively operating in the Aegean region, Central Anatolia, Western Black Sea, Mediterranean, and Marmara.

Do you supply all products from Konya?

Yes, all products we sell are manufactured in Konya.

Is the ISPAR brand yours?

Yes, ISPAR is our established brand in Turkey, while ISP Auto is used for foreign trade. We ship our products internationally.

Have you considered selling other parts besides brakes?

Our customers prefer us to focus on being experts in our field. We excel in braking components and will continue to focus here, forwarding other demands to factories in Konya. Our goal is to build trust with our customers while promoting the brands of our city throughout Turkey. Satisfying our customers is our main priority; profit comes second.

How many staff do you have?

We have 15 employees working with us.

Does currency fluctuation affect you?

Costs for imported products are increasing, as are raw material prices, which impacts manufacturing. While we cannot say that the rising dollar and euro have worsened the economy, it is evident that it has an effect. We believe that while challenges remain, customers still need our products, and we will persist in our efforts.

How do you evaluate spare parts manufacturing in Konya?

There are companies here that produce excellent quality products and should be recognized as leaders. However, the manufacturing landscape has its flaws; while manufacturing is satisfactory, marketing efforts are lacking, and this presents a significant challenge. Companies would benefit from improving their marketing strategies.

What are your future goals?

We aim to increase our export figures, contribute to the national economy, and expand our workforce. We are a growing company that seeks to be solution-oriented and effective in our operations. Similar to others, we strive for growth in the best and highest quality manner.

Have you ever thought about establishing manufacturing facilities?

Several years ago, the government provided significant production-related incentives in our sector, but currently, the situation has changed. Incentives, especially in the energy sector, have shifted focus. Had similar incentives been maintained, we could have taken steps to establish comprehensive manufacturing. For now, we are utilizing our own resources.

Are you a member of any non-governmental organization?

At this moment, we are not affiliated with any NGOs.

Would you like to add anything else besides our questions?

Thank you. I would like to emphasize that we expect more government support for manufacturers and vendors. We are not asking for financial aid but for incentives that can facilitate processes and monitoring from the government when purchasing machinery or setting up factories.
