Its tooling cost is also one of the reasons why it costs much more than other housing. Typically, its tooling costs tens of thousands of dollars. Due to the good appearance of aluminum die-casting shells, solar lights with this kind of shell are widely used in government projects. 

On the other hand, ABS plastic costs lower than aluminum casting, making it ideal for household solar lamps. Also, most solar pole headlights sold on retail platforms such as Amazon have a plastic casing.

Solar Light Pole

Mostly, solar posts and pole lights are installed on the poles. The height of these light poles is not too high, it&#;s just within 4 meters. Also, the light pole has a specific decorative design, and together with the lamps, it embellishes the surrounding environment. But before purchasing a light pole, you need to observe the following light pole parameters more strictly:

• Pole height: Dozens of cm to 4M. If the pole&#;s height is too high, it is for road lighting application.
• Material: Iron, Aluminum Sheet Metal, Die Cast Aluminum
• Thickness&#;1.5mm to 2.2mm 
• Section size&#; If round, the diameter is generally 40/60/60/78/89mm.
• Surface treatment: If it is made of iron, so it is usually hot-dip galvanized or cold-galvanized. The life of hot-dip galvanizing can generally be more than ten years, and the corrosion resistance is high. However, if it is cold galvanized, the iron usually begins to rust in about five years. On the other hand, aluminum is generally powder-coasting.

Just be careful on selecting it because after spraying it with paint, it&#;s hard to tell if it is metal or plastic on the outside.

5. Due to aesthetic considerations, many government projects do not allow solar panels to be large. The main reason is it will significantly limit the lighting time and brightness of the solar light. So if you use solar light for a government project, always specify its lumen value, dimming mode, and lighting time.
6. For all outdoor solar-led lights, waterproof performance is not a problem. Generally, the actual IP level of all solar lights is IP65. Do not be swayed by some products marked with IP66 and IP67. They are usually not true. IP65 means the light fixture can work normally on rainy days. IP66 and IP67 mean that the lamp can work underwater for some time.
