NLL Series Bolt Type Aluminum Alloy Strain Clamp And Insulation Cover

What Is Strain Clamp?


The purpose of the strain clamps is to fasten conductors and ground wires to tower arms and substation structures using insulators or link fittings. Applications involving transmission or distribution lines are the major uses for it. Fixing the conductors to the body requires washers, nuts, and U bolts.

Tension clamp, strain clamp, dead end clamp refers to the hardware used to fix a wire to withstand wire tension and hang the wire onto a tension string group or tower. Tension clamps can be roughly divided into two categories based on their structure and installation conditions. Type 1: The tension clamp shall withstand the full tensile force of the conductor or lightning conductor, and the grip force of the clamp shall not be less than 90% of the rated tensile strength of the installed conductor or lightning conductor, but shall not be used as a conductive body. This type of wire clamp can also be removed after the wire is installed and used separately. This type of wire clamp includes bolt type tension wire clamp and wedge type tension wire clamp. Type 2: Strain clamps not only bear the full tensile force of the conductor or lightning conductor, but also serve as conductive materials. Therefore, once installed, this type of wire clamp cannot be disassembled, also known as a dead wire clamp. As it is a conductive body, the installation of the wire clamp must be carried out carefully in accordance with the relevant installation and operation regulations.

Strain clamps are used for corner, splicing, and terminal connections. Spiral aluminum clad steel wire has extremely strong tensile strength and no concentrated stress, providing protection and auxiliary vibration reduction for optical cables. The grip strength of the cable clamp is not less than 95% of the rated tensile strength of the optical cable, which is convenient and fast to install, reducing construction costs.
