Design

Available in both white and black, the ZTE AX Pro features a sleek design that deviates from traditional cylindrical or square forms. It boasts four independent antennas situated on its rear, allowing for optimal positioning to achieve maximum wireless coverage during normal use.

Interfaces

Located on the back of the device, the four gigabit network ports include three LAN ports and one WAN port. One LAN port additionally supports broadband aggregation, connecting to another broadband source.

The router's power interface and reset buttons are cleverly integrated on the right side, allowing for a more aesthetically pleasing setup by concealing the cables behind the host unit after connecting the power supply.

Hardware

Featuring a dual-core Qualcomm CPU, it comes with 512MB of memory and 256MB ROM, supporting up to 256 simultaneous connections at peak speeds. To enhance connectivity, the router integrates an external 7dBi antenna, which operates on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels for improved range, even in complex building layouts.

Wireless Performance

Wireless routers must provide robust signal coverage in residential settings, where poor signal strength in areas like bathrooms or balconies can hinder user experience. Many consumers mistakenly believe that more antennas translate to better performance; however, the ZTE AX Pro, with its four antennas, mirrors the performance of the Huawei AX3 Pro Qualcomm version, providing extensive, dead-spot-free coverage in a 360° radius.

Other Connectivity options

ZTE EasyMesh simplifies the creation of mesh networks, complete with advantages like NFC smart connection for quick access, permitting Android devices to connect with just a single touch rather than needing to input a password.

EasyMesh

Extending coverage is seamless when adding EasyMesh-compatible devices; users can connect to a unified mesh network under a single SSID, maintaining stable connections as they navigate different rooms.
