My client has been utilizing the TPS for powering their current device. This device either works with a Li-Ion battery (or Li-Pol) or via USB connection.

They now face a new challenge: powering the TPS with a Li-SOCL2 battery, for instance, the SAFT LS model, which has a voltage rating of 3.6V. They have disabled the charging feature in the device, as it is meant to operate solely on battery.

The issue arises where the TPS seldom initiates properly when supplied by the Li-SOCL2 battery. It seems that the maximum current needed at start-up may exceed the 15 mA limit. Another possibility is an issue with the internal logic of the TPS. The specification sheet indicates that starting the device at 3.6V is feasible.

Interestingly, if the device is first powered by USB, it operates smoothly when switched to battery power.
