The operation begins when water enters the pump through a bell-shaped component called the suction bell. The water then moves into the first stage impeller, increasing its velocity. Following this, the water enters the bowl above the impeller, where the high-velocity energy converts into high pressure. The bowl directs the fluid to the next impeller, continuing this process through all pump stages. After exiting the final diffuser bowl, water ascends through a vertical column pipe towards the surface. The motor is positioned above ground and is linked through a long vertical shaft to the impellers at the pump’s base. This shaft rotates, supported by sleeve bearings mounted inside the column and lubricated by the water flow. At the surface, the pump discharge head allows fluid flow to change direction towards the discharge pipe.
